Cocktails, Cocktails, Cocktails!

This weekend myself and the rest of the Xtreme Team headed off to perform for VnC Cocktails in Cornwall. VnC Cocktails are currently a big company over in New Zealand and aim to penetrate the UK nightclub scene this summer, and we were hired to entertain guests throughout the night with fire, stilts and magic. Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening and the event organiser has expressed his interest in us and liked what we did. The return journey was a bit of a nightmare as we broke down, after several quick fixes on the car and a 13 hour journey we made it home.

Xtreme Entertainment Training Day

As some of you may know I joint own/run a company called Xtreme Entertainment (www.xtentertainment.com). At current the Xtreme team are cross training its performers. I absolutely love it when I stumble upon something within magic that takes an old classic and applies a new presentation. The sponge balls is an absolute classic of magic and it gets great reactions whenever I perform it. Angry birds (http://bit.ly/hzKpXy) took the world by storm when it was first released and is mega popular! Here’s what happens when you slam the two together!

A New Direction!

I often find myself apologising for the lack of blog posts or giving a half decent reason why I haven’t posted in so long. So my proposal is to take the blog in a new direction and broaden my horizons with it.

Previously, my standard blog posts would all be magic related and focussing on upcoming events etc. Although this was alright I felt it hindered the blog and therefore I am making the decision to make this blog more about my life in general. New posts may focus on anything from the film I saw last night to the latest trending topics on twitter.

Don’t worry magic lovers there will still be lots of magic and tricks to mush your brains.

With the above said:

This weekend was the EPL Ice Hockey Playoff Final in Coventry at the Skydome Arena. Some of you may already know I am an avid Manchester Phoenix fan (Twitter: @manc_phoenix) and I attended this weekend with my family and a couple of mates. This is my second year attending the playoffs, and I have to say it was an awesome weekend, full of hockey, banter and booze (I even managed to get a card trick or two in there!). Unfortunately Manchester Phoenix didn’t make the final, leaving Guilford Flames to take the victory after a battle against the Milton Keynes Lightening.

As for the hockey thats it for this Summer, I need to find something to do instead for a few months. hmmmm.

13th January 2011: First Blog post of the New Year!

Hello all,

First things first, Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great time celebrating and are now back hard at work!

I was talking to a friend on Facebook chat last night and she mentioned that she hadn’t seen a blog post in a while.. So I thought I’d better get my a**e in gear and get blogging!

BIG PROJECT

Currently myself and Sam Fitton (another magiciain) are co-writing a comedy/magic/mentalism stage show which we hope to be performing within the local area. This came about after being asked to compere an evening at the Dalton Rooms, Lancaster – coming up in April time. They would like us to not only compere the evening but also perform throughout the night.

Neither of us have done stage magic before so this is a new venture for both of us. I for one am looking forward to it and hope to see a few familiar faces amongst the audience

Preston LIVE Magazine

Along with the Xtreme Entertainment guys (Jim & Kingy) myself and Sam were invited down to Preston to take part in a Photoshoot for LIVE magazine. We should have a spot (possible front/inside cover) in the January issue but a double page spread in the February issue.

Xtreme Entertainment

Over the last couple of weeks I have teamed up with Sam Fitton (fellow magician), James Robertson (Xtreme Entertainment) & Andrew King (Xtreme Entertainment) taking to the streets of Lancaster on Saturdays during the market. You will find our magic stall right outside HMV positioned perfectly between the ‘yummy cup cake stall’ and the ‘Pancake Man’. Come down if you get chance and enjoy the magic – perfect stocking fillers for Christmas or essentials for budding magicians!

Recent Events

Manchester Fund Raiser

I have recently performed at a fund raising event in Manchester. The layout of the evening differed from the usual close-up magic in that I was asked to perform a parlour piece. This was new territory for me and I was rather nervous, all went to plan though and my act was greatly received.

Suzanne & Andy’s Wedding

Last weekend I made my trip to Yorkshire, over the tops and in to Marsden to The Hey Green hotel to perform for Suzanne & Andy’s guests on their special day. I mingled with the guests during the drinks reception and gathered some great reactions from my magic! I was even asked by the video productions company present to do some magic for the camera

As I mentioned in a previous post I am having my website and branding given a make over by Christopher Conner. The website is currently being built after deciding on a new style and brand for Adam Dadswell Magic. I look forward to the new site and seeing more of Chris’s work

PDF Release: Shootout

Last but by no means least, I am currently working with Jamie Daws to release my Debut PDF to the magic community. Shootout will be released online for magicians to buy and use in there repertoires. This will be available to purchase on my new site once it has launched.
